Karen Burke da Silva is a conservation scientist with a focus on the marine environment. Karen's research looks at issues related to the aquarium trade, the effects of global warming on coral reef species, and investigating mechanisms to improve the public's understanding of science. Karen believes in the power of education and positive thinking, and that involving the public in science and scientific research will have the biggest impact on change.
